Ram 1500 Wheel Specifications
Bolt Pattern
All Ram 1500 models from 2013-2026 use a 5ร139.7mm (5ร5.5") bolt pattern. This is unique to Ram among the Big 3 half-ton trucks โ Ford F-150 uses 6ร135mm and Chevy/GMC 1500 uses 6ร139.7mm. Ram's 5-lug pattern is a throwback to classic Dodge truck design and limits cross-brand wheel shopping significantly.
Important distinction: Ram 2500 and 3500 HD trucks use a completely different 8ร165.1mm (8ร6.5") bolt pattern. Do not assume HD wheels fit a 1500 or vice versa.
Hub Bore
Center bore diameter: 77.8mm for 2013-2026 Ram 1500. All trims share this specification.
Offset Range
- Tradesman / Big Horn OEM: +18mm to +25mm offset
- Laramie / Limited OEM: +22mm offset
- Rebel OEM: +25mm offset (air suspension raised)
- TRX / RHO OEM: +20mm offset with widened fenders
- Aftermarket lift setups: 0mm to +15mm offset for "poked" look
Air Suspension Consideration
A defining feature of the Ram 1500 is its optional air suspension (standard on Limited and Rebel Lifted, available on Laramie/Longhorn). Tire sizing is more flexible on air-equipped Rams because ride height can be adjusted, but the tallest tire size is still limited by wheel well clearance when the truck is lowered to "Aero" mode for highway driving.

- Coil Spring Rear (5th Gen): The Ram 1500's coil-sprung rear (unique in the segment) provides better ride but changes wheel well geometry vs leaf-sprung competitors.
- Air Suspension: On air-equipped trucks, check clearance at Aero Mode (lowest setting) not just Normal ride height.
- eTorque Models: Mild-hybrid Ram 1500s with eTorque have sensitive torque management; large tire upgrades may affect system behavior.
- Classic vs New: From 2019-2024, Ram sold both the new DT platform and the old DS platform (as "Ram 1500 Classic"). Wheels are NOT interchangeable between these โ different bolt patterns and offsets.

Frequently Asked Questions: Ram 1500 Tires
What size tires come on a 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn?
The 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn comes standard with 275/65R18 tires on 18" wheels. If equipped with the 20" wheel package (very common), the size is 275/55R20. Verify via your door jamb sticker, as option packages create size variation.
What is the Ram 1500 bolt pattern?
All 2013-2026 Ram 1500 trucks (both new DT and older DS platforms) use a 5ร139.7mm (5ร5.5") bolt pattern with a 77.8mm hub bore. This is a 5-lug design, which makes Ram 1500 unique among full-size half-ton pickups (Ford and Chevy both use 6-lug patterns). Wheels are NOT cross-compatible with F-150 or Silverado.
Can I put 35-inch tires on my Ram 1500 without a lift?
Typically no. The Rebel and TRX can clear 35" tires from the factory due to their lifted suspension (Rebel has 1" lift, TRX has 1.5"+ lift with widened fenders). On a non-lifted Laramie or Big Horn, 35s will rub on the sway bar, UCA, and front bumper at full steering lock. A 2" leveling kit or full suspension lift is needed to clear 35s on standard-height Rams.
Why did Ram discontinue the TRX?
The Ram 1500 TRX (2021-2024) used the 6.2L supercharged Hellcat V8, which Stellantis discontinued for emissions compliance and as part of its electrification push. For 2025-2026, Ram introduced the RHO as the TRX replacement, using the 540hp 3.0L Hurricane inline-6 instead. The RHO retains the TRX's 35ร12.5R18 tire size, widened fenders, and Bilstein Blackhawk shocks, just with a different engine.
How much do Ram 1500 tires cost?
- 275/65R18 (Big Horn): $160-300 per tire
- 275/55R20 (Laramie): $180-340 per tire
- 275/45R22 (Limited): $250-450 per tire
- 285/70R17 (Rebel): $220-380 per tire
- 325/65R18 (TRX/RHO): $350-550 per tire
TRX/RHO tire replacement is particularly expensive โ a full set runs $1,600-2,400 installed due to the specialized 35ร12.5R18 size.
Does the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel need special tires?
The EcoDiesel variant (2014-2023) uses the same tire sizes as gas-powered Rams in equivalent trims. However, low rolling resistance (LRR) tires are recommended to preserve the diesel's highway MPG advantage. The EcoDiesel was discontinued after 2023 as Ram shifted toward the Hurricane I6 and electrification.
Will 22-inch Limited wheels fit my Big Horn?
Yes, Ram 1500 Limited 22" wheels (with 275/45R22 tires) will bolt directly onto any 5th-gen Ram 1500 (2019+) due to shared 5ร139.7 bolt pattern and 77.8mm hub bore. Expect a significant ride quality change โ the short sidewall on 22s transmits more road impacts and is harsher than 20" or 18" setups. TPMS sensors should transfer without issue.
Ram 1500 Tire Pressure Specifications
| Model | Front PSI | Rear PSI | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tradesman / Big Horn (18") | 35 PSI | 35 PSI | Unloaded |
| Laramie / Longhorn (20") | 35 PSI | 35 PSI | Standard |
